Patrick Henry Osage Orange

Since 2002, this amazing tree at Patrick Henry's Red Hill home has held the title National Champion, the largest of its species in the country. The tree was a discovery of Lewis and Clark and they presented this tree to Henry's daughter, following his death at age 60. Today, the towering tree has a circumference of 326 inches, a height of 60 feet and a crown spread of 64 feet. Patrick Henry, called "the voice of the American Revolution" is buried at Red Hill in Charlotte County , Virginia.
