Montpelier Kentucky Coffee Tree

After serving two terms as President, Dwight and Mamie Eisenhower retired to a farm near Gettysburg , Pennsylvania , home to this old sycamore tree. In 1950, the Eisenhower's purchased the Allen Redding farm adjoining Gettysburg National Military Park . During his Presidency, they used the farm as a weekend retreat, a refuge in time of illness and a comfortable meeting place for world leaders. From 1961 to 1969, it was the Eisenhower's home during a vigorous and active retirement.
