John F. Kennedy Crabapple

The youngest man ever to be elected to our nation's highest office, he had served as a United States Naval Officer in the South Pacific during World War II and there commanded the PT-109. On his return home following the war he was elected to the United States House of Representatives from Massachusetts and later to the United States Senate from that state. He was elected to the Presidency in November 1960. He was assassinated in Dallas , Texas , on November 22, 1963 as he rode in an open motorcade. He was buried in Arlington National Cemetery on November 25, 1963 and his gravesite is one of the most visited spots in the cemetery.
